My Bucket List

1. I want to experience sky diving because I think it is very cool and very fun once you do it. I also think its beautiful when you look down at the cities or towns depending where you are.

2. Travel around the European country so that I can explore the old towns and cities, taste the food, get to meet new languages, and buy souvenirs to bring back home.

3. I want to have a family vacation with all my brothers and sisters at Hawaii or at Merida, which is located in the coast of Mexico, and have a great time with them and let them see how Hawaii looks like.

4. I would like to build a house that will be near a forest where my whole family and I can live in and spending time with my own family when I am older. I will want this house to be built around by my father and my older brothers.

5. I would want to bungee jump also because I think its very awesome and exciting to experience it and it would be cool if I did.

Being Charitable

The charity I want to donate is to the National Eczema Association (NEA). This association is researching the effects that eczema can contain which are itching, infection, skin barrier function, and other conditions that eczema can attract. This organization supports and helps people that have this condition by send then brochures, DVD's and school packs each year. Also, this organization calls in the volunteers that participate in this research and is holding a children's eczema camp that helps the children that have had this condition in their early years of life.

This charity is meaningful to me because I have a sister that has eczema and I also have it as well. I had eczema ever since I was ten years old and my sister had eczema when she was only seven. This condition is not a great one while me and my sister were growing up since the effects were bothering us. The way it would bother us was when a part of my body would get itchy, I would want to start scratching myself where it would itch, but I would hesitate because I knew it would hurt me and my skin will get worse than it was already. My sister did the same thing. She would try to overcome that itchy feeling whenever it would come around.

As the years went by, we started getting use to the itchy feeling and we went to a dermatologist and asked her why our skin would get red and left a nasty rash after we would scratch it. She told us that it was a case of eczema. After she explained it to me and my sister about the condition, we went to a pharmacy and got a lotion that would calm the itchiness and stop it for a while. After months past by, we started seeing a good change in our skin but the eczema would come once in a while whenever there was a cold season or a really hot season. I care about this charity and want it to progress more throughout the years.

  

Perseverance

My long term goal as of right now is to prove to those who have doubted me from the start that I did and will get a high school diploma, be a good remodel for my younger sisters, and to help myself provide the knowledge and perseverance to get to where I want to achieve my goal and become an anesthesiologist. The way I will prove those who doubted me is very simple. I will get through high school and college just so I can get into medical school. I will show them that I will not give up and that their words just made me a stronger person. I will then show my younger sisters to not absorb the negativity that other people or maybe even "friends" might give them. I will support them until I see them graduate from a university or when they are done with the education that have gotten. Now, as for me, I will take the opportunity and try to acknowledge that I will get through the obstacles that I will need to face. I will get myself into a medical school and earn a Ph. D degree.

The goals I want to achieve right now is to graduate high school, get into a four year university, get into medical school, and to work at a hospital as an official anesthesiologist, start a family of my own, buy myself a house, and finally reunite myself with all of my family members that are in Spain. To accomplish these goals I will need to focus and absorb all the information I get from the teachers, after that I will go to the nearest hospital that can give me a a heads up or some type of experience, then I will need to get some courses that will benefit me in my career and those courses will be physics, biology, and chemistry. After high school, I will go to a university such as California University that is up in San Francisco and get a major in natural science. After I succeed in getting  this major, I will get myself in a decent medical school that will teach the specific procedures and show me the instruments we will be using for when it comes to being part of a surgery.

When I have finally become a professional anesthesiologist, I will show and support my little sisters that  giving up is not an option. I will show my little sisters that once you begin something that you love doing, don't give up. I will becoming a great remodel for them and I will keep pushing them in their studies and education until they become someone. They mean the world to me and I will be proud of them once they achieve the dreams and goals they wanted to accomplish.

My Top Three Sports That I Like To Watch

1. Soccer

I love to watch soccer on the weekends or whenever I can. My favorite teams to watch are Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United. I am really entertained of watching those three teams compete versus other soccer teams. It gets intense when the soccer teams get into semi-finals before they can be up for finals.



       2. Football

Another sport I like to watch is football. I sometimes watch it with my uncle on Sundays when I'm not busy. My favorite teams are the Patriots, Ravens, and the Raiders. It is really interesting to watch when it comes to the playoffs because thats when all the NFL teams get really competitive towards each other.






          3. MMA Fighting

Last but not least there's MMA fighting championships. I really don't watch this sport a lot like I use to, but when I have time I watch it. My favorite fighter is Anderson Silva. I like how these, guys and girls, brawl each other just so they can win a heavy weight championship medal and other medals.

My Winter Break

During my winter break, I was spending time with my family, went to La Puente to spend my Christmas Eve with my family, and went to the mountains to see the snow. While I was spending time with my family, we were talking about how we were going to plan out the Christmas party that we were going to have. After we were done planning things out, we went to go eat at Olive Garden, since we were pretty hungry and since there were eleven of us we wanted some Italian food.

After the days passed by, it was finally Christmas Eve and everyone in my family was getting ready for the Christmas party that was going to be held in my other relative's house in La Puente. So after everybody got ready we headed out and went to the party that we had planned out a week ago. When we arrived to the party, we saw a lot of food, gifts, and some of my other distant relatives that I have not seen in a long time. The first thing I did when I got there was eat because I was starving and I got really hungry along the way. After we had eaten and gotten our gifts, we were talking to some of my relatives and asking them how they were and what they have been up to lately. We had a great time playing games and telling each other scary stories. Afterwards, we went home all happy and exhausted.

After days went by, my family decided to take a visit to the San Bernardino mountains. So everybody got ready and brought their coats. While we were on our way to the mountains, we were getting bored in the car. So then everybody decided to play a game and then sing to songs that would come out in the radio. But I didn't do that because it really interest me and it was kind of lame, so, I was just listening to music and slept during the car ride to the mountains. When we got there, my little sisters jumped right out of the car and into the snow. They were really excited to feel and play with the snow. I, in the other hand, was not feeling pretty excited. I was feeling amazed because of the way it looks when its all over the trees and mountains. We just stayed there for a couple of hours and then headed home.

About Me

My name is Julisa Rodriguez. I live in the city of Costa Mesa with my grandmother, my uncle, and my mother. I have five brothers and five sisters, but they don’t live with me. I went to previous schools such as Whittier Elementary, Rea Elementary, McFadden Intermediate School, Saddleback High School, Garden Grove High School, and finally Estancia High School. I have been bouncing around many places. My favorite color is lavender and turquoise. My favorite food is Italian food and Mexican food. My favorite hobby is practicing my marksmanship skills and playing soccer on a daily basis. My career goal is to major in natural science and to become an anesthesiologist.

My biological father died when I was a newborn baby. He was shot in the head and died instantly. My two older brothers are real troublemakers and criminals in the city of Santa Ana. They are affiliated in gangs and violence. My older brother is in county jail for the crimes he committed. My life is a really hard and complicated one. But I pay no attention to it. When I was growing up I started being a delinquent myself when I was in middle school. I would cut class, use profanity to offend teachers and staff, I wouldn’t do my classwork and my homework, and sometimes I wouldn’t even go to school for many weeks. All that I have been through made me who I was in the past. Now I am a changed person and I want to accomplish that career and major.
